Architectural Lighting Desing
Machát, Jan ; Petelen, Ivan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
This dissertation focuses on the development and understanding of lighting design in the context of architecture. The main objectives of this thesis are: • To expand the theoretical knowledge of lighting design in architecture, including its purpose, perception and specific techniques. • Developing and testing an innovative approach to simulating lighting in buildings, specifically by using video projection on facades as an alternative to traditional, challenging methods. • Providing practical recommendations for the application of lighting design in practice. The thesis describes the challenges associated with traditional methods of façade lighting and presents an innovative alternative in the form of video projection. This approach offers flexibility in testing different lighting scenarios, facilitating design changes and efficiently selecting the optimum lighting for a particular building. The practical part started with the selection of a suitable building, the historic Building A of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Brno University of Technology, based on carefully defined criteria. This was followed by simulation tests in a computer environment and tests on a scale model of the building, created using 3D printing, before the actual test on the real building. The theoretical part of the work included studying literature, participation in conferences and workshops, a study internship in Stockholm and practical work with light. These experiences served as a basis for a potential teaching course "Light in Architecture" that could be incorporated into the architectural studio curriculum. Overall, this dissertation contributes to strengthening the theoretical and practical understanding of light design in architecture and offers innovative methods and practices for its application.
Use of LumiTRIX projection systems in OOH advertising
Nováček, Jiří ; Chylíková, Hana (advisor) ; Brus, Lukáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of using the LumiTRIX projection systems in outdoor (OOH) advertising. The first chapter is devoted to the position of outdoor advertising in advertising and marketing in general and to the history, formats and current trends of OOH advertising. The second chapter is dedicated to video mapping and LumiTRIX projection systems. The research can be found then in the third chapter. The possibilities of using LumiTRIX projection systems are explored here by means of individual in-depth interviews with representatives of Czech OOH advertising companies. The research proves that LumiTRIX projection systems can be very well used in outdoor advertising. The research also shows that the LumiTRIX Typhoon projector can be effectively used as a replacement for a "dynamic backlight" technology.
